Margaret spent a number of years with the Office of the Revenue Commissioners before moving to a private tax practice in Dublin. She moved to Cork in 2000 and set up her own Company, Connolly & Associates Limited, which merged into Cogent Taxation Group Limited.

Deirdre O’ Neill

BComm, MDevSt(Econ), AITI

Deirdre spent time working in small businesses before joining Connolly & Associates which merged into Cogent Taxation Group Limited. She has considerable experience in managing large scale capital allowance projects, estate planning, VAT, corporate reorganisations and income tax returns.

Sally Anne Mc Carthy

BSc Finance, ACA

Sally Anne worked in Audit in KPMG for 6 years in Cork & the Cayman Islands before returning to Cork to work in PepsiCo & McKesson. She has worked in & managed a number of Accounting and FP&A teams.

Tax & Accounting Trainee

Natasha Nally

Natasha is currently studying with Accounting Technicians Ireland and is pursuing a career in tax and accountancy, with plans to continue her professional studies through ACCA. Before moving into the profession, she spent several years working in Support Operations, Management, and Customer Service with leading technology and fintech companies, including Shopify, eBay, and Stripe.

Would you be interested in an exciting career as a Taxation Consultant with Cogent?

The assignments will be challenging and exciting and will offer the ideal candidate an opportunity to work on and develop a portfolio of clients and report to the directors.

Successful candidates will be AITI qualified, preferably with a recognised accounting qualification. The candidate should have 3+ years tax experience in a practical/commercial tax planning environment including client management. Opportunities also arise from time to time for trainee consultants who wish to pursue a career in taxation.

Candidates will be positive self-starters and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong planning, organisational and self-managing skills will be required in addition to the necessary technical competence that will enable the consultant to identify technical issues and determine how to resolve them.
